Sarah Jessica Parker was joined by hubby Matthew Broderick and their 19-year-old son James on the red carpet for the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That
Sarah Jessica Parker looked amazing as she walked the red carpet with her son for the premiere of And Just Like That.
The actress, 56, made the outing a family affair as she was joined by husband Matthew Broderick, 59, and their 19-year-old son James.
SJP dazzled in New York as she donned a grey Oscar de La Renta frock with a pink tulle skirt that would have suited her on-screen character Carrie Bradshaw to a tee.
She finished the look with a matching cape, an elegant necklace and a pair of pink heels.
In what is a rare public appearance with his mother, James looked all grown up and dapper as he rocked a smart suit with a white shirt and black tie combo.
His dad wore a similar design, but opted for the buttoned jacket look as he lovingly held his wife’s had.
The father and son both also wore matching white pocket squares.
It’s the first time James has appeared at a red carpet event for four years when the then-14-year-old joined his parents and his younger sisters, twins Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, for the the Broadway opening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
He has since graduated from high school and headed off to college.
In September, the Sex and the City star shared a snap of her son in his freshman attire as well as 12-year-old Marion and Tabitha heading to their classes.
She is clearly proud of her son as she gushed about his “new life” on his 19th birthday in October.
Sarah Jessica took to Instagram to write: “He is in his life. Away. In his studies. Among new friends. Sending home details. There is so much to tell.
“New adults making lasting impressions. Opening his still young eyes. New thoughts. New books. New and different mornings,” she added. “Our Scorpio. Our Oct baby. Our JW.”
SJP’s new movie, the reboot of Sex and the City, sees her return to the screen alongside Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis as the trio star as Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.
There is however the notable absence of Kim Cattrall playing Samantha.
Kim famously called out SJP in 2018 for sending ‘insincere’ condolences over the death of her brother Chris.
And three years ago Kim took to Instagram to slam SJP and reminisced on how ‘cruel’ the Hocus Pocus actress was when the Sex and the City series was still being filmed.
“My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?'” she captioned her post.
“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.
“So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona,” she concluded the savage takedown.
