Khloe Kardashian says that online trolling sometimes consumes her so much that she has to quit social media.
As the final ever series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians kicks off, the 36-year-old admitted that trolls sometimes get the better of her even though she’s made her life an “open book”.
Talking to Cosmopolitan UK, Khloe said she often needs to switch off and focus on the “real world” that her internet fans don’t see.
Khloe, who shares daughter True, two, with partner Khloe Kardashian, who she recently reunited with, said: “I sometimes like to just take a break and disconnect because none of that actually matters in the real world.
“I know who I am, and my friends and family know who I am, what my intentions are, and my heart. I’m peaceful with that, so nothing else matters.”
She added: “I’m hugely passionate about health and wellness. I think it’s so important to take care of yourself from the inside out. Staying active and healthy is the best medicine for a happy mind and heart, so I try to do something every day that makes me feel good.
“Whether it’s a long walk with my mom or sisters, or an intense workout, I find it’s so helpful to my mental health to stay active. Now, more than ever, it’s important for each of us to take time to do the things that make our minds and bodies feel good.”
KUWTK’s 20th and final season kicks off today, landing on hayu in the UK each Friday.
It first aired back in 2007, and Khloe says the hit show was only ever intended for a one-off series.
She explained: “We were supposed to just be a filler show without a second season, so when we were filming [season one] we just didn’t really think anything of it. And I think that’s what made it so much fun.
“We’ve also had pretty much the same production crew throughout, so all of the memories and friendships created with them and my family over the years has been the best.”
Khloe’s sister Kourtney has famously battled with being on the show, taking a step back and telling her sisters she wanted to quit.
Her brother Rob also stepped away from the show after struggling with his confidence after gaining weight.
And Khloe says while she’s had to adjust her work-life balance since becoming a mum, she’d never considered walking away.
She said: “Filming KUWTK was such an amazing experience and I’m so sad to see it come to an end. I wouldn’t say that I ever considered quitting, but after having True, I had to learn to balance my time more because she is the most important person.
“It was really just all about me learning to set more boundaries [and] manage my time, so I could still give her the attention she deserves.”
Honest Khloe has shared all the ups and downs of her life, including her struggles following her father Robert’s death from cancer, her whirlwind marriage to Lamar Odom and the breakdown of the relationship, the birth of her daughter and her partner Tristan’s cheating scandals.
And she said she never really worries about oversharing.
She confessed: “I think, at this point, so many people know so much about me and everything occurring in my life that it’s difficult to overshare! There are definitely points in some situations where boundaries have to be set, but overall my life’s always been a pretty open book.”
