Meghan Markle’s friend Katharine McPhee has given birth to a baby boy, it has been confirmed.
The 36 year old welcomed her first child with husband David Foster, 71, who is already father to five daughters from previous relationships.
A representative for the Broadway and West End star said on Wednesday night: “Katharine McPhee and David Foster have welcomed a healthy baby boy.
“Mom, Dad and son are all doing wonderfully,” the spokesperson continued to People.
American Idol runner-up Katharine recently spoke about welcoming a baby boy on podcast Women on Top.
She said: “Now that I am having a boy, there are different things I need to worry about to teach him versus the things I would be thinking about with a girl.
“But it’s kind of refreshing because I feel like I don’t need to think about those societal ‘this is the way you look.’ I think men have different issues and different things to worry about.”
The happy news comes as her pal Meghan, 39, who she went to school with, announced she is pregnant with her second child.
A spokesperson for Meghan, 39, and her 36 year old husband Prince Harry said on Valentine’s Day: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
The couple made the revelation alongside a gorgeous black and white photo of Harry resting his hand on Meghan’s head as she lays in his lap underneath a tree, cradling her blossoming baby bump.
Meghan, who suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in July last year, and Harry’s second child will be eighth in the line to the throne, despite his parents stepping down as working members of the Royal family.
