Geri Halliwell had quite the ride at the Monaco Grand Prix, as she shared a series of updates from behind the scenes at the big event on social media.
The former Spice Girl joined her husband, Red Bull’s F1 team principal Christian Horner, at the annual sporting event and documented the day for her 1 million Instagram followers to see.
Geri, 48, also posed for pictures alongside Christian, 47, who clutched a trophy after his Belgian-Dutch driver Max Verstappen took first place.
Geri has undergone quite the transformation since her time as Ginger Spice.
Previously known for risque wardrobe choices and her iconic Union Jack flag dress, the star, who is now Geri Horner, prefers all-white ensembles nowadays.
After Christian’s team won, Geri shared her joy on Instagram. Over a picture of her and Christian, she wrote: “Congratulations!… So proud of you.”
Fans were quick to reply to the singer, with one suggesting that Geri was Christian’s “lucky charm”.
Other adoring followers left congratulatory messages and clapping emojis.
The singer-songwriter later posted a look behind the scenes of the Grand Prix, followed by a picture of the leaderboard with Christian’s “inspiring” Red Bull Racing Honda team were first place with 149 points.
Geri announced she was in Monaco at the weekend by taking to Instagram to share the news. Posting a smiley picture of herself sporting another all-white outfit, she wrote: “Happy Saturday. Hope you’re having a great weekend.
“I’m out in Monaco with @redbullracing @christianhorner Exciting stuff to watch the qualifying. Vroom vroom.”
The singer later shared a video of herself making her way to the Circuit de Monaco track on a rather bumpy speedboat, with the wind ripping through her hair.
Fans could hear her shouting: “Today…today…is race day,” she then crosses her fingers.
Pointing to the sky, Geri continues: “Sunshine…that’s nice.” Geri then laughs as she grips onto the boat as it speeds through the rough and bumpy waves. She captioned the footage: “Today …. is ….. bump ….. race ..day …… #naturalblowdry on my way to track in Monaco.”
Many of Geri’s Insta fans commented on the demure style choices she has made in recent years. One user wrote: “Does anybody know why she is always wearing white clothes? Doesn’t make sense.”
“Is there a reason you always wear white / cream not that there is anything wrong with that just curious, you do look fab by the way,” added another.
White is perhaps an unusual choice of colour to pick considering she lives in the countryside. Geri hasn’t touched colour – unless it’s black – since early 2019, and even wears light hues to tend to farm animals, drive dirty tractors and walk her many dogs.
According to some sources Geri, who married F1 boss Christian Horner in 2015, decided to adopt a new signature look to appear “clean and ladylike”, and the singer has even addressed it in one of her posts.
